Sea Hawk Cukote is a premium self-polishing copolymer antifouling bottom paint engineered to deliver exceptional, long-lasting protection in demanding marine environments. Its high loading of 47.5% cuprous oxide makes Cukote an excellent performer even in severe fouling areas and provides dependable protection over multiple boating seasons.
Cukote features a semi-hard, self-polishing ablative formulation that wears away at a controlled rate during service. This continuously exposes active antifouling material while helping keep the underwater hull surface smooth and clean. Because the coating gradually polishes rather than simply accumulating layer after layer, Cukote helps minimize excessive bottom-paint buildup over time.
Its harder ablative finish makes Cukote particularly well suited for fast-moving vessels, including powerboats, motor yachts, high-speed transports, supply vessels and ferries, while also providing excellent multi-season performance for pleasure craft, coastal and deep-sea vessels.
Another important advantage of Cukote is its ability to withstand haul-outs without losing its antifouling properties. A vessel can be removed from the water and relaunched without compromising the coating's antifouling characteristics, making Cukote an excellent choice for boats that are periodically hauled, stored or serviced.
Cukote is suitable for properly prepared fiberglass, steel and wood vessels below the waterline and is Lloyd's Register certified. Sea Hawk's current Lloyd's certificate recognizes Cukote as compliant with the IMO International Convention on the Control of Harmful Anti-fouling Systems on Ships.

For pleasure craft, Sea Hawk specifies two coats over the entire hull at approximately 2.5 mils dry film thickness per coat. Sea Hawk's product guide recommends a third coat at the waterline and other high-wear areas for maximum fouling-control protection.
Cukote can be applied using airless or conventional spray, solvent-resistant rollers or brushes. At approximately 73°F (23°C), Sea Hawk specifies a minimum overcoat interval of approximately 1 hour and a minimum launch time of 12 hours. Application conditions and the complete TDS should always be consulted before use.
Cukote is an excellent choice for boat owners, captains and marine professionals who need premium multi-season antifouling protection in demanding fouling conditions.
Compared with a more value-oriented product such as AF33, Cukote steps up to a much higher 47.5% cuprous oxide loading and is positioned by Sea Hawk as its premium self-polishing antifouling. Its harder ablative formulation also makes it particularly attractive for powerboats, yachts and faster vessels where durability and a smooth underwater surface are important.
Cukote can be burnished to create an extremely slick racing finish.
