At the heart of Colorkote is an advanced triple-biocide system utilizing Econea®, Zinc Omadine® and Copper Thiocyanate. This combination provides broad antifouling protection while using a low-leaching formulation designed for long-lasting, multi-season performance.
Unlike conventional antifouling paints based on cuprous oxide, Colorkote uses copper thiocyanate as part of its biocide package. This next-generation formulation allows Colorkote to be used on virtually any properly prepared hull type, including fiberglass, aluminum and steel/iron, without the galvanic-corrosion concerns associated with applying traditional cuprous-oxide antifouling directly to aluminum.
Colorkote's self-polishing technology gradually renews the coating surface during service, maintaining active antifouling protection while helping provide a smooth underwater finish.
