Sea Hawk Hawk Epoxy F3 Light Density Adhesive Micro Fiber Filler is a versatile microfiber thickening additive for the Hawk Epoxy system.

When blended into properly mixed Hawk Epoxy R1 Resin and catalyst, F3 thickens the epoxy to an off-white color and creates a multipurpose adhesive suitable for bonding a variety of substrates. It is particularly well suited for wood bonding applications.

The F3 mixture provides excellent substrate wetting and penetrating characteristics, helping the epoxy effectively contact and penetrate the bonding surface. The addition of F3 also increases impact and abrasion resistance.

F3 can be used with any combination of Hawk Epoxy R1 Resin and Hawk Epoxy catalysts, allowing the consistency of the mixed epoxy to be adjusted according to the application.

Application & Use

First thoroughly mix the appropriate Hawk Epoxy R1 Resin and catalyst according to Sea Hawk's instructions. Mix the F3 filler thoroughly, then gradually add small amounts of filler to the mixed resin and catalyst until the desired consistency is achieved.

The amount of F3 added can be adjusted according to the application:

• For laminating flat panels or bonding large surfaces, mix to a pourable or injectable consistency.
• For general bonding, mix to a slightly to moderately thick consistency.
• For applications requiring a zero-sag effect, add filler until a very thick consistency is achieved.
• For maximum adhesion and strength, Sea Hawk specifies using only enough filler to prevent sagging or running.

When bonding two surfaces, Sea Hawk specifies that a small amount of the resin/catalyst/filler mixture should squeeze out from between the bonded components when they are pressed together. Increasing the filler-to-resin/catalyst ratio reduces strength while increasing sandability.
